Talking about the economic priorities in 2024, Chen Yongjun, a special professor at Guangdong University of Finance and Economics and dean of the Greater Bay Area Double Cycle Development Research Institute, pointed out in an interview with China News Network that it is necessary to focus on the formation of new quality productivity and further improve the new type of production relations, and achieve "progress to promote stability" by improving total factor productivity.

    Chen Yongjun believes that there are two directions for actively doing economic work in 2024: one is to lead by innovation and form new quality productivity; Second, through reform and opening up, we will further improve the new type of production relations compatible with the new quality of productive forces.

    As for the new quality productivity, in Chen Yongjun's view, it is a new productivity organization form for the traditional productivity, and its main point is to improve the total factor productivity in economic growth to achieve.

    Chen Yongjun believes that the growth and cultivation of new quality productivity needs new production relations to adapt to it, which needs to be further solved and improved through reform and opening up, which can be started from the following five aspects.

    First, we should further improve the socialist market economic system, especially the establishment of a large unified market across the country. This can support the operation of the socialist market economy and form the basic conditions to support the new development pattern.

    Second, it is necessary to gradually form a new development pattern of double cycles, and solve the kinetic energy problem of the inner cycle and the quality problem of the outer cycle.

    Third, it is necessary to further develop and strengthen the private economy by promoting the harmonious development of different ownership within the framework of the socialist market economy, so as to promote the stable growth of China's economy and improve the expectations of private entrepreneurs for economic development.

    Fourth, to further open up at a high level, further integrate with the world market, and achieve the important goal of Chinese-style modernization.

    Fifth, further improve the business environment to provide a better environment for exploring new quality productivity. "The development of new quality productivity, new scenarios, new formats and new services such as artificial intelligence and industrial robots cannot be separated from the investment willingness of entrepreneurs, so it is very important to further develop and expand the private economy."
